CREATIVE MOVEMENT

This is a great opportunity for children to explore creativity with their peers and is often is the first meeting of lifelong dance friends.
HIP HOP
PRESCHOOL - TEEN
Hip Hop has gained widespread popularity over the years thanks to pop culture and because it is FUN! As with all classes, age appropriate music and themes are explored. In addition to learning specialized Hip Hop techniques (breakdance, pop and lock, etc.) classes incorporate Jazz exercises throughout to reinforce classic dance principles.
KINDER COMBO (BALLET/TAP & JAZZ/HIP HOP)
KIDS (5-6 YRS)
A natural progression from the Creative Movement class or also a great start for beginners. Kinder Combo is a perfect balance for 5-6 year olds who are ready for a formal dance class. Available in a Ballet/Tap combo and Jazz/Hip Hop combo, dancers receive 30 minutes of training in each respective style per class. Important fundamental training begins here with body placement and rhythm awareness.
BALLET
KINDER - TEEN
Ballet is the foundation of all dance. If your dancer takes but one class, let this be it! All dance styles stem from ballet technique and the mental and physical benefits developed from training in this style are unmatched; discipline, grace, muscle strength from the inside out, posture, etc. In traditional format, all Ballet classes include work beginning at the barre and progressing to center and traveling exercises. Once a certain age and level are reached, pointe work will be offered to appropriate students.
TAP
KINDER - TEEN
The most rhythmic form of dance. Special shoes are worn to sound out beats and rhythms. Tap dance develops musicality skills that are necessary for all dancers. Much like a Ballet class, exercises are performed at the barre, center, and traveling.
JAZZ
KINDER - TEEN
Jazz dance encompasses a little bit of everything. It draws from Ballet concepts and adds its own flair ranging in styles from African to Musical Theatre to Funk. In addition to center work that develops a strong core and correct body alignment, technique classes incorporate leaps, turns, and various style elements.
ACRO
KINDER - TEEN
Acro(batics) for dancers! This class teaches basic gymnastics principles that weave their way into dance choreography. Exercises focus on strength training, flexibility, and balance. Dancers are able to work as a group and also on their own personal goals.
CONTEMPORARY
JUNIOR - TEEN
Possibly the most popular style of dance amongst advanced dancers, Contemporary dance is a fusion of different styles used to express abstract ideas. It draws from classical techniques and then allows for artistic expression to change and distort movement into something totally unique.
MODERN
TEEN
For the more mature dancer, Modern dance is derived from an organic, rooted, movement that comes from within. Much like Ballet, Modern dance has a rich history and includes many different forms of training from respected pioneers, all of which are explored in Drive's Modern class.
COMPANY REHEARSAL
KINDER - TEEN
During Company Rehearsal, company members will learn, review, clean, and expand upon choreography for upcoming performance opportunities. Placement auditions and certain class requirements must be met to participate in this rewarding program.
